Dorica is a housemother to our youngest girls. She was born March 10, 1963. She grew up in a village not far from the orphanage. She is a single mother of three grown children. Her husband passed away only seven years after they married.

Dorica first came to New Day looking for work, but found Jesus instead. She accepted Christ during a ladies’ meeting taught by a volunteer team from the states in March 2016. She became a weekly part of the women’s Bible study held at New Day, and eventually part of the New Day Baptist Church.

As we watched Dorica’s spiritual growth, we hired her for a housemother substitute. Seeing how well she cared for and loved our children, we asked her to join New Day as a permanent house mother.
