Lorraine Mainza was born on February 26, 2020 in a town in southern Zambia called Namwala. She has two other siblings, ages 5 and 3. Her father, a peasant farmer, is still living. He asked New Day to take Lorraine after her mother died from severe bleeding after delivery because he could not afford to take care of her, and being an infant, she needed special care which he could not provide. This is common in Zambia.
Lorraine joined the New Day family on March 13, 2020.
