Laston was born August 2, 2015 in Choma. His mother abandoned him when he was a few months old, and his father was unwilling to care for the child. Laston had been living with his grandmother, who is lame and in a wheelchair. She made her living by sitting in front of a hotel with Laston in her lap, begging for money.
Laston was placed in New Day's custody in November of 2016 by the Choma Social Welfare Office at the age of 16 months old. He was unable to stand or walk due to a severe burn injury on his leg. After just 5 months at New Day, Laston was up and moving on those legs! We are blessed to be able to teach Laston about Jesus and to watch him grow both physically and spiritually!
