Gilbert Kazembo was born on 20 August 2019. His father was a school dropout who only went up to the third grade in his education. He is just a peasant farmer without any other source of income. Gilbert's mother died on 5 November 2019 of an unknown cause. Gilbert was only two months old and he was left in the care of his grandmother who also couldn't afford to care for him. Through the social welfare office, Gilbert was considered to be a child in need of care and the best place for him was New Day Orphanage. When Gilbert came to New Day, he had a fever and stomach pains.
Gilbert joined the new day family on 6 November 2019.
