Mulenga was born on October 24, 1982 in Mongu. His father died when he was very young and he was sent to live with his uncle in Mazabuka, where he eventually met Wes and Laurie Wilcox. When he was a teenager, he accepted Christ as his Savior. When Blu and Darbi first came to Zambia, he worked closely with them for two years, and when they returned in 2010, they immediately found him and asked him to work with them again.

Mulenga is a very quick learner. He can often learn a new skill by watching it being performed one or two times. Because of this, Mulenga is New Day’s resident mechanic, plumber, carpenter, and budding electrician. In addition, he can be also be found translating a Bible study or devotional virtually every day.

Mulenga lives at New Day with his wife, Miriam, and their three children, Emmanuel, David, and Caleb (Kelev).

Miriam currently works as a teacher at a local government school.
