John Francis Tembo was born on June 8th, 1959 in the Eastern Province of Zambia. Josephine was born on March 10th, 1962 in the same area. The two met and married in their late teens and have raised seven children together – 6 girls and 1 boy!
Both John Francis and Josephine became Christians in the 1970s due to the work of Baptist missionaries in their area. Since that time, they have been instrumental in discipling new believers, training pastors, and evangelizing the villages around them.
The Tembos became houseparents in February of 2015 and are a welcome addition to the New Day staff, as they have seen firsthand what can happen when you invest in teaching someone about Christ. They currently serve as houseparents of our Luumuno House, raising our oldest boys and a few of the youngest as well!
