New Day is situated in the middle of a very rural area of Africa.  If you leave the wire fence that surrounds us, you’ll find houses made of mud bricks and grass thatched roofs.  There are fields of home grown maize and meandering trails where people walk between villages.  You’ll also find kids.

Lots of kids.

More than half of Zambia’s population is under the age of 18.  Couple that with the fact that children are more responsive to the gospel than adults, and you have the makings of an incredible ministry we call Kids Club.

Every Saturday we invite every child within walking distance to experience the life that our New Day kids know every day.  For 90 minutes, more that 200 children will play with soccer balls, basketballs (which they use as soccer balls), jump ropes, frisbees, swings, and slides.  Then they all settle down for a Bible story and devotion time.  Afterwards, they are served a hearty meal of beans, cabbage, and nshima.  While food lasts they are allowed to come back for seconds or thirds.

They leave full.

Full from food, yes, but also full from hearing words of life, from being loved, and from finding time to just be kids.  We whole-heartedly believe that this time will pay dividends both now and for all eternity.
